Introducing the Broderie Anglaise Claudia Dress, a 40s Film Noir loungewear-inspired dress in a black broderie anglaise. This 100% cotton version is brand new for Spring/Summer 2025 and availability will be extremely limited. Designed exclusively for us as part of the Alexandra King for Deadly is the Female Collection.
The Broderie Anglaise Claudia Dress is a draped dress with sash tie waist in a beautiful black eyelet lace. The dress features a V neck which can be either modest or more daring, depending on how you tweak the gathers that run through the body of the dress. There is also a split in the front so you can flash just a hint of leg as you walk! You'll also find hidden pockets - our all-time favourite finishing touch!
About the Claudia Dress
The Claudia Dress perfectly combines our desire to look glamorous but still be comfortable! Cleverly designed, the dress is one size fits most, up to a 46" bust. This is because the dress is cut with lots of fabric through the body, which drapes beautifully. The matching sash belt gathers everything in for an elegant hourglass shape when you tie it at the waist. You can choose how and where you tie the sash for a fit tailored to you. This ingenious design means you can pretty much always grab this dress and throw it on! The transformation from unflattering smock shape to luxuriously draped dress has to be seen to be believed! Tying the sash is easy - simply wrap it around your body once or twice (it's up to you!) and knot it. Just try to ensure the sash isn't twisted and that it is lying flat. Inspiration
Inspired by a dress worn by Barbara Stanwyck in the 1944 Film Noir drama Double Indemnity and lots of classic loungewear from the era. We gave our version the Deadly treatment to vamp it up even more! This flutter sleeve version is just as dramatic as our original Bishop Sleeve version but a little cooler for warmer days!

Fabric: Cotton blend. This printed version is non-stretch & unlined. The lace holes are see-through so please keep this in mind.
Care: Hand wash cool – hang to dry – do not iron, steam carefully
One size up to a 42” Bust
This dress has been handmade with a material rich in colour. Avoid wearing it with white or light-coloured items or layering it as the colours may transfer under heat. Please wash separately with similar colours and hang to dry.
