We are so excited to launch a new Velvet Leopard Claudia Dress for 2026! Our iconic 40s Film Noir-inspired dress is back in a stunning leopard print. Designed exclusively for us as part of the Alexandra King for Deadly is the Female Collection.
The Velvet Leopard Claudia Dress is a draped stretch velvet dress with bishop sleeves and a matching sash tie waist. It features a V neck which can be either modest or more daring, depending on how you tweak the gathers which run through the body of the dress. This version doesn't have a split at the front, but don't worry, it hasn't lost any of the drama!
The luxurious velvet fabric is soft and luxurious, which makes this dress feel opulent and dramatic. You'll also find hidden pockets - our all-time favourite finishing touch! The Velvet Leopard Claudia Dress perfectly combines our desire to look glamorous but still be comfortable!
Cleverly designed, the dress is one size fits most, up to a 46" bust. This is because the dress is cut with lots of fabric through the body, which drapes beautifully. The sash belt gathers everything in for an elegant hourglass shape when you tie it at the waist. You can choose how and where you tie the sash for a fit tailored to you. The sash is cut in the same stretch velvet fabric, so you can cinch your waist in. This ingenious design means you can pretty much always grab this dress and throw it on! The transformation from unflattering smock shape to luxuriously draped dress has to be seen to be believed! Take a peek through the photos to see what the dress looks like before the sash is tied.
Tying the sash is easy - simply wrap it around your body once or twice (it's up to you!) and knot it. Just try to ensure the sash isn't twisted and that it is lying flat. For more info on tying the sash, we have included a quick video.
Inspiration
Inspired by a dress worn by Barbara Stanwyck in the 1944 Film Noir drama Double Indemnity and lots of classic loungewear from the era. We gave our version the Deadly treatment to vamp it up even more!
