The Midcentury Stars Claudia Maxi Dress is a draped dress with a sash tie waist. This new Claudia gown is effortlessly romantic, featuring red, yellow, and blue micro stars and dots scattered over a deep navy. The soft fabric floats and moves beautifully.
The dress features a V neck which can be either modest or more daring, depending on how you tweak the gathers which run through the body of the dress. There is also a split in the front so you can flash just a hint of leg as you walk! Cut to the floor and slightly longer at the back for maximum elegance and drama, and minimal trip risk! You’ll also find hidden pockets – our all-time favourite finishing touch!
The Claudia Maxi Dress perfectly combines our desire to look glamorous but still be comfortable! Cleverly designed, the dress is one size fits most, up to a 46″ bust. This is because the dress is cut with lots of fabric through the body, which drapes beautifully. The sash belt gathers everything in for an elegant hourglass shape when you tie it at the waist. You can choose how and where you tie the sash for a fit tailored to you. This ingenious design means you can pretty much always grab this dress and throw it on!
The transformation from unflattering smock shape to luxuriously draped dress has to be seen to be believed! Tying the sash is easy – simply wrap it around your body once or twice (it’s up to you!) and knot it. Just try to ensure the sash isn’t twisted and that it is lying flat. Inspiration
Inspired by a dress worn by Barbara Stanwyck in the 1944 Film Noir drama Double Indemnity and lots of classic loungewear from the era. We gave our version the Deadly treatment to vamp it up even more! This flutter sleeve version is just as dramatic as our original Bishop Sleeve version but a little cooler for warmer days!
