Introducing the Black Polka Dot Claudia Maxi Dress, a 40s Film Noir loungewear inspired dress in a gorgeous monochrome spotted georgette. This semi-sheer polka dot version is brand new for Spring/Summer 2020 and availability will be limited. The Black Polka Dot Claudia Maxi Dress is a draped semi-sheer georgette dress with sash tie waist. This new polka dotted Claudia dress is effortlessly romantic. The soft fabric floats and moves beautifully. As it is semi-sheer, this version also comes with a plain black slip to wear underneath (if you so wish!).

The dress features a V neck which can be either modest or more daring, depending on how you tweak the gathers which run through the body of the dress. The full Bishop sleeves add all the drama you could want! Cut to the floor and slightly longer at the back for maximum elegance and drama, minimal trip risk! The split in the front means you can flash just a hint of leg as you walk! You’ll also find hidden pockets – our all-time favourite finishing touch!

The Claudia Dress perfectly combines our desire to look glamorous but still be comfortable! Cleverly designed, the dress is one size fits most, up to a 46″ bust. This is because the dress is cut with lots of fabric through the body, which drapes beautifully. The sash belt gathers everything in for an elegant hourglass shape when you tie it at the waist. You can choose how and where you tie the sash for a fit tailored to you.  This ingenious design means you can pretty much always grab this dress and throw it on! We love the dress styled with a red sash belt too – this item is sold separately.

What makes this dress special?

The transformation from unflattering smock shape to luxuriously draped dress has to be seen to be believed! Take a peek through the photos to see what the dress looks like before the sash is tied. Tying the sash is easy – simply wrap it around your body once or twice (it’s up to you!) and knot it. Just try to ensure the sash isn’t twisted and that it is lying flat. Inspiration

Inspired by a dress worn by Barbara Stanwyck in the 1944 Film Noir drama Double Indemnity and lots of classic loungewear from the era. We gave our version the Deadly treatment to vamp it up even more!
