Hair and Makeup Monday: Photo Shoot Hair and Makeup Inspiration 30’s!
We had so much fun on our latest Deadly is the Female photo shoot! We wanted to share with you our inspiration for creating the hair and makeup looks for our models.
Today we share with you our beautiful new Deadly model Meg’s hair and makeup look!
Our in house Beauty Fairy Godmother Lolita Noir worked her magic on Meg’s gorgeous hair (we all had hair envy!) to create a stunning 30’s inspired look. The brief was big hair with lot’s of curls! Meg’s hair is shoulder length so this 30’s style was perfect.
Lolita began by setting Meg’s hair in hot rollers and left these to cool down for as long as possible. Once Lolita removed the rollers she backcombed the hair to add volume and shape to the hairstyle. Lolita carefully brushed the curls and dressed them so that this style showed off all the curls. To avoid fly aways and frizz showing up on camera, Lolita used Suavecita Pomade to smooth and tame any unruly hair’s giving a beautiful sleek finish.
Seen as Meg’s hairstyle was a very glamourous we wanted a makeup look to match! Lolita was particularly inspired for this look by 30’s actress Clara Bow.
Lolita created a strong smokey eye but still with a classic deadly winged eyeliner. To create the smokey eye one of Lolita’s favourite makeup palettes is the Urban Decay Naked 2 Eye Shadow Palette. This palette has the perfect selection of colours to build up a strong smokey eye. We were SUPER excited for the lipstick in this look, Lolita excitedly used the brand new Vixen by Julia Hewett lipstick in “Vixen” Red! This lipstick looked stunning, a real classic red and this lippy stayed in place for the whole shoot even when Meg was eating and drinking! We NEED to get this lipstick!
