30s Wide Leg Trousers Review!

Our lovely shop assistant Scarlett has reviewed the 30s Wide Leg Trousers in Navy, a completely new look for her!

Whenever I attend vintage events I always see ladies rocking wide leg trousers but I always thought that if I was to wear a pair they would make me look short and the wide leg would make my legs look big! However, as a birthday present I received a pair of the 30s Wide Leg Trousers in Navy and realised I had been oh so wrong!

I am 5ft 8″ and found that I had to lower the hem line of these trousers by about a couple of inches as they were skimming the bottom of my ankles. This was a simple job and well worth doing, a good seamstress will be able to help with this job if your not a keen sewer. I wore the trousers for the first time for a day at work and my goodness they were so comfortable! They were easy to wear and move in. I love the high waist, nipping you in at the smallest part of your waist and then gliding down to the floor making your legs look so much longer that they actually are.

I also decided to change the buttons from brown to white as I just love the nautical look! I wore these trousers to ballroom class that evening and they really were so light and easy to dance in. I felt rather like Ginger Rogers! When it comes to sizing I chose to size up. I have a long body and found that my usual size wasn’t sitting correctly on my waist making it uncomfortable but the next size up fitted perfectly with a bit of room to tuck in a top. I am wearing the My Hair is Full of Secrets T-Shirt.

I can’t recommend these trousers highly enough, I was hugely skeptical but proven wrong! These are now a favourite in my wardrobe!
